Sean is an accomplished investment professional and company co-founder with deep expertise in early-stage ventures, growth equity, and infrastructure assets. His career spans investments, development, operations, and M&A across a diverse range of sectors, including renewable and traditional energy, data centers, manufacturing, timber, agriculture, and emerging industrial technologies.

Sean is the Co-Founder, President, and Chief Investment Officer of Monarch Bioenergy, a leading developer and operator of carbon-negative renewable natural gas (RNG) infrastructure in North America. In partnership with Smithfield Foods and TPG, Monarch is also advancing the development of organic fertilizer and nutrient products.

In addition, Sean is an investment partner at Roeslein & Associates, a global leader in energy and beverage can manufacturing, engineering, EPC services, and modular fabrication.

Previously, Sean co-founded two U.S.-based companies for Mitsui & Co., including MBK Capital, a strategic venture with General Electric focused on direct investments in U.S. middle-market private companies. MBK Capital achieved a successful exit to a strategic acquirer. Sean has also served on investment committees and as an advisor and board member for several Mitsui portfolio companies.

Earlier in his career, Sean held investment and strategy roles at Goldman Sachs & Co. and Fortis Asset Management in New York, concentrating on alternative assets, private equity, and venture capital. He has successfully guided multiple venture-stage companies through complex challenges to exits in both private and public markets. His international experience spans Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America.

A U.S. Army veteran, Sean served as a Captain in the Field Artillery, with both domestic and overseas deployments. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Law and Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was a recruited NCAA Division I middle-distance runner. He earned his MBA from Cornell University and is also an Eagle Scout.

Sean lives in St. Louis, Missouri, with his wife and two daughters.
