Russ Minick
Former President, Energy Technology at Generac Launched Generac Clean Energy Business Group
Russ the President of Residential Products at Generac. He joined the company in 2011 as Executive Vice President, where he led a major go-to-market transformation for the Residential business, driving exponential growth. In 2013, Russ expanded his role to Executive Vice President of North America, overseeing all Generac business units—including residential, commercial, industrial, and mobile—along with customer experience functions such as support, technical service, and operations.
Russ was appointed Chief Marketing Officer in 2016 and later became President of Energy Technology in 2019. In this role, Russ spearheaded Generac’s strategic pivot from a fossil fuel-based backup power provider to a forward-looking energy technology company, significantly expanding the company’s total addressable market and market capitalization.
Russ has led six successful M&A deals at Generac, five of which were in the clean energy sector between 2019 and 2021. In late 2019, he launched the Generac Clean Energy Business Group, which quickly scaled to over $300 million in sales within two years, competing with industry leaders like Tesla, SolarEdge, and Enphase.
In 2021, Russ launched the Generac Grid Services (GGS) Business Group, focused on leveraging renewable energy to support grid operators and utilities. That same year, he played a key role in initiating Generac’s first ESG reporting efforts.
Before joining Generac, Russ held executive roles including: President & CEO, Electrolux Home Care Products (2006–2011) President, The Gunlocke Company at HNI Corporation (2003–2006), SVP of Sales, Marketing & Product Development, True Temper Sports (2002–2003), General Manager, Extended Warranty Operations, Ford Motor Company (1998–2002).
Russ holds a marketing degree from the University of Northern Iowa, where he was also a member of the UNI Tennis Team.
